Privacy Policy

Pilacon Concrete Contractors ("Pilacon", "we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you contact us or use our website, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Effective: 1 January 2026 Last updated: 18 May 2026 Version: 1.0 (draft)

01 Who this policy covers

This policy applies to information collected by Pilacon Concrete Contractors (ABN 43 634 502 060), based in Park Orchards, Victoria, when you:

  • visit our website at pilacon.com.au;
  • request a quote or send us an enquiry by phone, email, SMS or web form;
  • engage us to perform concreting works at your property; or
  • otherwise interact with us in person or online.

We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

02 Information we collect

We only collect information that we reasonably need to run our business and complete your job. That usually includes:

Identity & contact details

  • your name, the site address, your billing address (if different);
  • your phone number and email address;
  • preferred contact times and method.

Job & site information

  • photos, measurements, plans and sketches of your site;
  • access notes (e.g. gate codes, dog warnings, neighbour parking);
  • specifications, finish selections and material preferences.

Transaction details

  • quotes, invoices, payment records and receipt of deposits;
  • bank transfer references (we do not store full card numbers).

Website usage

  • technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited and referring URL;
  • information collected by cookies and similar technologies — see Section 7.

03 How we collect it

We collect personal information directly from you wherever possible — for example when you fill in our quote form, send us a message, ring us, or speak with us on site. In some cases we may collect information from third parties, such as:

  • builders, architects or project managers who introduce you to us;
  • publicly available property and planning records.

If you provide us with information about another person (for example a tenant or co-owner), please make sure they are aware of and consent to the disclosure.

04 Why we use it

We use your information to:

  • respond to enquiries and prepare quotes;
  • schedule and carry out concreting works at your property;
  • order materials and coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors;
  • invoice, receive payment, and manage warranty claims;
  • comply with our legal obligations, including building, tax and workplace safety laws;
  • improve our website and services.
No spam. We don't send marketing newsletters and we don't sell your details to anyone. If we ever start a mailing list, it will be strictly opt-in.

05 Who we share it with

We only share your information where it's necessary to deliver the job or where the law requires it. That can include:

  • Subcontractors and suppliers — pump operators, formworkers, polishers, concrete plants — limited to the details they need to attend site;
  • Professional advisers — accountants, insurers, lawyers — on a confidential basis;
  • Payment and accounting providers — for example Xero, Stripe and our bank;
  • Government bodies — where required by law, including the ATO and WorkSafe Victoria.

We do not transfer your personal information overseas, except where a cloud service we use (for example Google Workspace) hosts data in international data centres in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

06 Storage & security

We store records securely using a mix of paper job files (kept in a locked office) and reputable cloud services protected by passwords and two-factor authentication. We restrict access to those who need it to do their job.

We retain job files for at least seven (7) years after practical completion so we can honour our workmanship guarantee and meet our tax and building record obligations. After that, we securely destroy or de-identify the records, unless we are required to keep them longer.

No method of storage is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a data breach that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required by law.

07 Cookies & analytics

Our website uses a small number of cookies to help it work properly and to understand how visitors use it. These include:

  • Essential cookies — required for the site to function (for example to remember whether you've dismissed a banner);
  • Analytics cookies — set by Google Analytics so we can see which pages are popular and where users come from. Data is aggregated and not used to identify you personally;
  • Embedded content — pages with embedded Google Maps may set cookies controlled by Google.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings; some parts of the site may not work as well if you do.

08 Your rights

You have the right to:

  • ask what personal information we hold about you;
  • request a correction if anything is inaccurate or out of date;
  • ask us to delete information that we are not legally required to keep;
  • make a privacy complaint (see Section 11).

We will respond to written requests within a reasonable time, normally inside 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before releasing or changing records.

09 Children

Our services are aimed at homeowners and builders, not children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe a minor has provided us with information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10 Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version will always be available on our website with an updated "Last updated" date. Material changes will also be flagged on our home page for a reasonable period.

11 Contact & complaints

If you have a privacy question, want to access or correct your information, or want to make a complaint about how we've handled your personal information, please get in touch. We take privacy complaints seriously and will respond within 30 days.
